For weeks, Macedonia has blocked passage into its territory for thousands of mainly Middle Eastern refugees seeking entry into Europe. The Macedonian government has said they cannot take the strain, echoing statements made by other European politicians. “The migrant crisis threatens Europe’s soul,” says the Italian Foreign Minister. But what about the refugees themselves? This film is a journey with the refugees from Macedonia through Serbia to find out how hard life is on the road, often with the sick and with children: this migration is of epic proportions. Originally, mostly from Syria, they are fleeing war largely fuelled by the West and are trying to reach Hungary, an EU member. Refugees are currently desperate to get into Hungary as soon as possible, as time is running out. Hungary is building a four-meter high fence along its borders. Hungarian Prime Minster Viktor Orban has likened refugees to terrorists and does not want them to pass through his country. Orban has been condemned for his unsympathetic treatment, but is Europe acting any differently?

Fueled by gun violence, racism still has traces in the United States. With a history of confederacy, Charleston, South Carolina has lately witnessed another incident of racism in the form of a terror attack by Dylann Roof. Recently, Dylann Roof, a white supremacist, walked into a church in Charleston, South Carolina and shot dead nine black worshipers, among them, state senator, Clementa Pinckney. He said he wanted to start a “race war.” Only months before, another killing took place in Charleston, this time by a police officer. Walter Scott was shot dead in the back by police officer, Michael Slager. Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Walter Scott and Fredie Gray. These are just some of the black men recently shot dead by white police officers in the United States. Many have called Dylann Roof insane. But is he merely part of a wider white supremacist movement? After the terrorist attack, a black church was burnt nearly every day for a week. This was mostly ignored by US media. Race killings in America are never far from the media these days. Press TV covers the massive protests and riots in numerous towns across America and depicts how these acts of racism have sullied the image of the US in the eyes of the world.

The MKO is a terrorist group which has ruthlessly killed thousands of Iranian citizens with the aim of overthrowing the Iranian government. This anti-Iranian terrorist organization was initially founded 50 years ago to oppose the dictator Shah of Iran. But after the Shah’s fall and the victory of the Islamic Revolution it metamorphosed into a full-fledged terrorist cult to reveal its true intentions and identity. Thousands of Iranian civilians have been the victims of MKO’s acts of terror. But the cult’s own members are also victims, they have suffered both physically and psychologically. Trapped in the confines of the cult’s garrison, and brainwashed through the years, MKO members are forbidden to even think about a normal life. For those who awaken perhaps the conditions are worse, stuck between a hard place and a rock their only chance for a livable future is to escape, yet the price for that could be to sacrifice their life. Many sociologists have strived to identify and analyze the workings of cults but perhaps no one knows the horrors of life inside better than its own former members, those who found the courage to escape and were lucky enough to succeed. In this documentary we meet two former MKO members who fled from the clutches of the cult against all odds. And now they provide a rare glimpse into two decades of life inside a cult, a life wasted in fear, hopelessness and deception.

This documentary investigates the case of Bijan Ebrahimi, an Iranian man who was murdered in cold blood in Capgrave Crescent, Bristol. Bijan Ebrahimi, 44, had been suffering racial and physical abuse on the estate he lived on in the Brislington area of the city. And even though he had complained to police after suffering antisocial behavior but he was killed two days after he himself was arrested after completely unfounded complaints that he had interest in children. He was beaten to death and his body set on fire after it was doused in white spirit. Two of his neighbors were arrested for the murder; Lee James, 24, of Capgrave Crescent, Bristol, admitted his murder, at Bristol Crown Court. And Stephen Norley, 24, also of Capgrave Crescent, admitted assisting an offender. Sadly the events that led to Bijan Ebrahimi’s murder were not the first time he had been the subject of apparent hate crime as he was forced to move out of a previous home after it was set on fire. This documentary will shed much-needed light on how Mr. Ebrahimi’s disability and ethnic origin as an Iranian Muslim came to be a reason why he was targeted by the offenders. This is a case where the victim repeatedly told the police that he was at risk yet he was simply ignored until police negligence led to his death. The film will also provide a detailed analysis of how Ebrahimi was treated by Avon and Somerset police over a number of years. And police incompetence and neglect.

When someone mentions caves, what do you think of? If you only think of a huge hole in the ground, then, you’re dead wrong. There’s so much more to caves. For a cave, it can take millions of years to form - each holding special qualities that make them unique. In our documentary “Framing the Deep,” we share with you some of what we have learnt in our journey into a chamber of secrets located in the Islamic Republic of Iran, “Nakhjeer Cave”. This cave has hidden itself from mankind until about 25 years ago. It is believed to be about 70 million years old and has been formed as a result of tectonic factors and chemical reactions. It is said that there is a pool of water at the end of this 8000-m-long cave with large holes along sides. During the film, we interview a group of professional French cave photographers who were holding a photography class for Iranian cavers at the time of shooting the film. It was quite interesting to look at the cave through their lenses and from their perspectives.
